Karl was surrendered in November 09. He had been living in a Brisbane backyard with several females and sired quite a few litters. His owner finally realised that the situation had gotten out of hand and made the wise decision to hand all the guinea pigs over to the shelter. It took Karl a while to adjust to living in a hutch after having a huge garden to roam in, and he certainly didn't like the idea of living apart from his harem. But a few months down the track he has mellowed and become a very friendly, affectionate boy.
UPDATE: Our handsome Karl has now been desexed which makes it possible for him to join another harem but this time without the resulting babies!! I am so happy that he can now have a girlfriend or two. He certainly wasn't interested in being paired with another boy!

The shelter is open each weekend between the hours of 10am and 3pm. Adoptions, surrenders and all other visits are by appointment only.
