Dear little Bert came to my shelter in September 08 as part of a backyard rescue. He was a gorgeous little boy, just old enough to be weaned. Fortunately I had Ernie waiting for a buddy and he and Bert bonded immediately. Bert's done a bit of travelling in his short life but is now back at my shelter and anxious to take the next step in his big adventure which of course is to find a special someone with a big heart who will take this adorable pair home and shower them with love and affection. Are you that special person? Bert has lived all his life in a shelter so has never had the experience of being someone's special pet. I think it's time he and Ernie got to see what it's like to live with a loving family and to receive one-on-one attention. These two boys seem happy and content but deep down inside they know there's more to life than sitting in a hutch, within the confines of a shelter.
Ernie first came to the shelter as a surrender in August 08. A few weeks later he was paired successfully with Bert. In December 08 they were transferred to another shelter where they sat waiting to be adopted. They returned to my shelter mid 09 and are STILL waiting for that special person to take them home and give them the love, care and attention they both truly deserve. Ernie is so cute and adorable I can't understand why someone hasn't snapped him up already. When he first arrived here he was curious and rather cheeky and I'm happy to say he hasn't changed which is fantastic, considering he has lived most of his life in a shelter. While all the piggies here receive the best of care and a healthy diet, the one thing they miss out on is lots of attention and cuddles. Without regular handling, even the tamest and friendliest of piggies can regress to the point of not wanting to be picked up and cuddled at all. Ernie is amazing in that he's remained very happy and friendly and is always up for a cuddle when someone has the time to give him one. I would dearly love to see he and Bert adopted and starting a new life in a forever home as soon as possible.
Please go to the ADOPTING PAGE and read "POINTS TO CONSIDER BEFORE ADOPTING A GUINEA PIG" and view the ADOPTION CONTRACT before contacting the shelter in regard to adopting.
The shelter is open each weekend between the hours of 10am and 3pm. Adoptions, surrenders and all other visits are by appointment only. |
