WILMA, SANDY & ROXY

Wilma was my first baby. She was on her own for the first three years of her life until we saved her from the top of an Oxford Street apartment block in Sydney. She wasn't used to human contact at first and was very scared. After many, many cuddles she grew into a very affectionate girl who would actually fall asleep on me and then kiss me on my chin! Her favourite food was cherry tomatoes and grapes and she would eat them out of my hands. When Sandy arrived we were shocked at Wilma's reaction to another guinea, she was so dominant, aggressive and was definitely top dog! After many attempts by my husband and I to be-friend them, Wilma finally accepted she now had company and softened however always told everyone who was boss. I loved her strong determined personality, she would always make me smile and would never stop chatting to me! I loved her so much and she will always have a special place in my heart. I miss her terribly.

Sandy was such a gentle girl and so soft and squidgy too. She would snuggle under my chin and would feel safe. She was a scaredy-cat and would be bossed around by the others - she would never complain and was such a good friend to them all. Sandy was not with me for a long time however I was so blessed to share those special couple of years and I treasure the time I had with her.

Roxy, her brother and sisters were all saved by Alex. They had a very sad start, we never really knew what happened to them however I have never seen a guinea so scared by human contact before and it took many hours of gentle cuddles to gain her trust. She became a real character and was happy to be held close to my body so she felt safe and secure. It gave me so much pleasure to ensure her last couple of years were spent in a way she deserved with lots of love, care and comfort. She was such a special girl.

CANDY

Candy was born on August the 1st 2009. Jaffa was her mum. When we bought Jaffa she was pregnant. She had Candy and her brother. Candy was born to love. One of the cutest babies I have ever seen. I really loved Candy because she was so pretty and just had this amazing personality. She was a really big talker and always had something to say when you walked past the hutch. Her main aim in life was just to fit in. She was never “bossy” and just wanted to be everyone’s friend. She was so gentle and would never nip. Even when she was really sick she was so gentle and loving and just wanted to be cuddled. I still really miss her.

LOUIE

This is our little "Louie", he was the sweetest piggy ever. Louie made us so happy with his little squeaks and "chirrups", we could always tell what he wanted by the sounds he'd make. Originally we got Louie off some friends of ours who had two guinea pigs, Louie and Crystal. They decided to get a dog and were looking for a home for the piggies. Crystal, who was a long haired girl, was snapped up but Louie found it harder to find a home. When we found out he was looking for a new home we said yes straight away. From the moment he came into our home he ruled the roost, the children just adored him and so did my husband and I. No-one could bear the thought of him being caged in the laundry and so his sleeping cage was given pride of place in the lounge room. You should have heard the ruckus he'd kick up if he couldn't see the TV. Yes, Louie was a TVaholic and he had his favourite shows too! His favourite food was celery tops ... he wasn't mad on the stalks it had to be the tops and he loved his carrots, in fact we buried him with a carrot and his favourite flowers, his favourite bedding - straw, and his favourite toys which were his purple ball and a small teddy. He used to sit on the computer table and nudge my elbow as I tried to type on the computer. Working at the computer is now so sad for me, as I keep looking for him to nudge my arm. We all miss him horribly, but me especially. When my husband took the kids to school Louie and I would spend time together and he'd sit cuddled up to me. I miss him so very, very much. Thank you for giving me the chance to tell everyone what a special little boy he was and to honour him.

RIP Louie we will ALWAYS love you.
